Guide To Buying A Log Home
Developing A Floor Plan
When choosing your log home floor plan, it is important to choose one that not only fits your individual lifestyle, but also keeps in mind your lot size, and natural landscape. You may have a rough draft sketched out on paper, or choose from the hundreds of stock plans on Golden Eagle Log Homes’ website and customize one to fit your needs. Or create a total custom plan.
Not all log home companies provide a design service, which means you will have to hire a designer or architect to create your plans. Independent architects may charge $3-$4 a square foot for the plans. Golden Eagle Log Homes has twelve fulltime, experienced CAD designers ready to make your dream a reality. Once you decide on a floor plan, you will be given a "ballpark" price. This is just an estimate to see if your dream home fits into your budget. If not then changes will need to be made accordingly. The plan service fee is $. 50 per square foot of living space with no extra charge for garages or basements. Golden Eagle also allows up to 50 revisions at no extra charge. The plan service includes all four exterior views as well as scaled floor plans and the foundation. Golden Eagle Log Homes will even REFUND the plan service fee if you purchase your home from them. That’s right, your plan service could be FREE.
